He settled in London in 1890 and preached Torah and vegetarianism in the streets of that city. He taught people to have compassion for all living creatures and how to remain healthy with little money. He was known by many as a great and saintly preacher. He was a dedicated vegetarian who wore cloth shoes all year long to show his abhorrence of leather.In 1975, a Hall of Education Library was opened at Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel, dedicated to the memory of the Kamenitzer Maggid. |
